– Y'know, you fake it til you make it. And that's a rule on stage
and it's a rule in life. (hypnotic electronic music) When you're improvising And you're working together
to make up a story, To explain a thing, Or you're making up a story
to appeal to the audience, There's power in that
because now it's my story And my story becomes your story And I'm gonna add on top of it. They used to make fun of me
when I first first started Because I was the little kid Who was used to playing by himself, So big imagination, But the kid that's used
to playing by himself, And we've all played
with this kid, "freeze!" "I'm not running!" "Bang, I shot you!" "No, you didn't. I have a Kevlar vest on." "Bang, I just shot you again." "I've got a force field." "I've got cuffs on you." "I've got strength like the Hulk!" "Grab him, guys!" "You can't, I'm flying." "I ripped your cape off." "I don't need a cape. It's mental." "I took your brain." "I have two." I was made fun of 'cause
I was unkillable on stage. I had to end the scene Because I didn't trust
that anybody on stage
Was good enough to end the scene. I had to end the scene and
I had to be in control. I had to, I had to, me, me, me, me, me. That took a minute to let go And go, "oh, these guys
have really got me, okay." In terms of growth,
creatively or business-wise, You have to be able to
trust and be discerning, But you have to trust. Maybe it'll bite me in the ass. You know, probably
it'll bite me in the ass Because people are people And out of 100 people, maybe
60 of 'em are trustworthy. Okay, but how do you move
forward if you don't? Unless you are cool just
being completely by yourself And relying on no one else. But that's the world. Let's tell a story together. I really want to trust you And in me saying "I'll
trust you for that", Then hopefully that
garners trust from you. (hypnotic electronic music)
