My name is Jonah rider and I run the pit Supper club out of my home in Brooklyn This morning I'm here in the Union Square farmers market getting some Amazing produce should be a banger I Started the dinners in my dorm room at Columbia I'm just so delighted at how Tiny these are like this is dope these Are so pretty This stuff is dope I've been hoping I Was gonna find chick weed here thank you So much have a good day Stay away Vee I started hosting dinners For my friends many nights a week I Didn't want to eat in the dining hall Anymore but it got kind of more and more Serious as time went on and by my last Year in college I had called it the Pig Supper club people from all corners of The city and all over the world were Scrambling to get a seat in my tiny Dormitory dining room I think icked out Of a bunch of apartments in New York for Cooking I lived in the dorm I got kicked Out of that then I moved into the Professor's sublet I got kicked out of That then I moved into this divorcees Penthouse in Chelsea which went really Bad then I was on the loveseat in this Music studio that was fun but not very Fruitful check out my avocado socks Today Put me in a good mood people tell me all The time that I'm young or not studied
Enough as a cook when I started cooking I was not good at cooking I'm lucky to Work with people that I learned from Yeah thanks you too And it's pretty amazing to see in the Past two years how my cooking has Evolved the reason people come is not Really for the food it's for this unique Experience that's quite different Restaurant bridge opening behind you It's really a lot of fun to have like an 80 year old couple and a 12 year old boy Like chit-chatting next to each other Whoo that's how people need each other And go on dates there's all sorts of Amazing things that happen here over Dinner the food that I make should be Tasty and delicious and great but it's Far more important that people have a Wonderful time eating I like that that Actually has really stayed the same no Matter whether it's in the tiny dorm or A beautiful home or a restaurant in Tokyo like that vibe stays the same when Starting a project with passion but not Experience I think it's really important To not just try to have the thing you're Making and be good but to do it with a Really genuine and excited spirit it's a Very silly idea to serve food in a dorm Room and in a funny way I was very Serious about it for me the best meals Don't happen in restaurants they happen In houses and I want to show people this
