Well if you are looking for a job you May want to brace yourself for some Changes companies are increasingly Turning to artificial intelligence Bots To conduct the interviews a survey by Resume Builder found four out of every 10 companies will be using AI for job Interviews by just next year 2024 and 15 Percent of those businesses say AI will Make the hiring decisions without any Human interference joining us now in the Studio is CBS money watch reporter Megan Cerullo so Megan you wrote about this I Can't get enough of the story it's so Interesting first of all what are some Of the different types of AI job Interviews you know that job Seekers Should be prepared for because just Hearing about that I'm not even sure What that is what does that consist of Well we're all used to to traditional In-person interviews and we become more Accustomed to interviewing over Zoom for Example since since the pandemic made That Procedure necessary but in AI interview It's actually I sat with myself and it's Actually a little bit like video Conferencing with yourself right so you Can see yourself on Zoom but there's no One on the other side of the screen There are two main distinctions between The two different types of AAA Interviews ai ai LED interviews

Um they you might be presented with a Question in text on a screen and then You're sort of staring at yourself and And recording your answers into a box But that will then be submitted to a Human Ascension being who will evaluate Your responses then there are interviews That are totally automated and even your Response is is evaluated by an AI bot or An algorithm so that's interesting Particularly because you can see the Time benefits uh for it but I'm Imagining that there's a lot of people Out there who hear this particularly Maybe people who are older in the Workplace who feel like I I don't know That I'm prepared for an AI interview What kinds of suggestions can you give Our viewers the good thing is that that Practice certainly can help First of all pretend like you're talking To another human being as hard as that May be but don't suddenly become robotic Yourself if it helps to tape a photo of Someone you like or love you know above Your camera if that helps you feel more Relaxed do that because you will be Judged uh based on vocal data and verbal Data too so so your delivery and how you Speak you don't want to sort of Um you want to be confident in your Statements and you don't want to to use What's called up speak Um the other thing this is always

Important but really mind the job Description for for keywords because Those will will stand out to an Algorithm and and make sure to use them In that interview and then the third Thing is is practice you can start by FaceTiming with a friend and then you Can sort of do the same thing set up a Zoom call but but have your your friend Turn their camera off and then uh the Last step would be to to just record Yourself because that's going to be Pretty close to what it's going to feel Like to be clear though Megan what we're Talking about in some instances that AI Interviewer could be the gatekeeper Essentially that allows you to either be Seen or not be seen by an actual human Right that that's correct and and okay Doesn't that sink in for a moment that's That's correct you could very well be Interviewed and evaluated by a bot and So the advantages for companies is it Can help them Wade through large volumes Of applicants faster However it could be that the algorithm Could be eliminating Um very qualified candidates before a Human ever lays eyes on them and because They're only going to be presented with With finalists and so they only have to Spend you know an hour or two as opposed To you know dozens of hours but um it Could be weeding out uh qualified

Applicants yeah and based off of your Reporting it sounds like six percent of Companies next year may actually be Hiring people who only go through the AI Process and don't have a human actually Talk to them interacting right try and Get any sense of them at all what does That say just about where what we're Valuing as a society and employees it's True it does mean that AI is here to Stay and that we have to get used to it And then we have to to understand it so That we can impress it yeah so that we Can can land that that meeting with with A human being Um you know it means that Qualities like likability and Sociability which can get candidates Pretty far in an interview process won't Matter as much which which brings you Back to sort of mining that job Description for keywords the other the Other Piece of advice that experts gave us as Always you you want to make sure your Your backup is is Um your backdrop is is professional and Dress like you would Um for an interview with a human being Even though there's no one on the other Side of the camera dress professionally Really important to at least understand This is the world we're living in Against early Megan thank you so much

Thanks so much
